Tyntesfield Chapter’s Meeting – 11th May 2023

On Thursday 11th May, Tyntesfield Chapter held its 137th meeting, a slightly quieter and brief meeting, than February when we hosted St Augustine Chapter 3108 from Bristol on behalf of Somerset Province.
With no candidate available for the meeting, the opportunity was taken to present the Historical and Symbolical Lectures.
The Three Principals presented the Historical Lecture in excellent fashion.
This was followed by the presentation of the Symbolical Lecture in catechetical form with E Comp Richard Ellis asking the questions and Comps Phil Taylor, Mark Wilcox, Chris Perry, Stewart Galway, Bill Hillis, Steve Collings and Bob Paice responding again in excellent form and providing a significant increase in masonic knowledge for the attending Companions.
The lectures were followed by a Solomon Nugget presented by Comp Stewart Galway, being “The Significance of the Chapter Banners” which was very relevant to the Symbolical Lecture.
The lone visitor, E Comp John Hewitt, rose and congratulated everyone on the way the Lectures were presented, especially the Nugget from Comp Stewart Galway where everyone learnt something new.

Other than electing the Principals and Treasurer for the forthcoming year and other administration matters, the meeting concluded at 7.48pm in peace and harmony and the companions adjourned for a Festive Board with a lovely warming chefs homemade soup; Chicken, Ham & Leek Pie with New Potatoes & Seasonal Vegetables followed by Raspberry Eton Mess and Coffee, again up to the normal excellent Nailsea standard. The Companions were dismissed at just after 9.00pm with increased masonic knowledge and a full stomach.
A very enjoyable evening was had by all. The next convocation will be an Installation meeting on Thursday 14th September 2023. As always visitors will receive a normal Tyntesfield welcome.
