Royal Cyrus Chapter donate to Bruton and Shepton Mallet Food Banks
At the January Convocation of the Royal Cyrus Chapter the Companions agreed to give £200 to both the Bruton and the Shepton Mallet Food Banks. This was supplemented by £100 from the province meaning that we were able to present £250 to each.
Pictured are E Comp Doug Stembridge (Treasurer) and Comp Michael Adams (Charity Steward) presenting Cheques To Ann Chinye of the Salvation Army who run the Shepton Mallet Food Bank and to David Bray, Vanessa Clarke and Eve Anderton, volunteers who run the Brue Larder, the Bruton Food Bank.
Both organisations expressed their sincere thanks for the donations adding that even in small towns, such as Bruton and Shepton Mallet, they have seen an increase in need and a drop in donations, so these donations will be of immense help to them.
If your Chapter is making a new donation to a food bank you are able to get additional help from the Province. This amounts to an additional 50% of the donation you are making, up to a maximum of £100 per Chapter. For details contact the Provincial Grand Treasurer.
