King Alfred Chapter 3169 Installation 24th October 2022
At the recent Installation meeting, in the presence of the 3rd Provincial Grand Principal, E. Comp. Geoff Lester, accompanied by E. Comp. Ian Pickett PrAGDC.
E. Comp Stuart Boyd inducted E. Comp. David Mallinson as First Principal. The Sceptre having been passed, E. Comp Mallinson then installed E. Comp. Justin Pursey as Second Principal and then with the assistance of the newly installed Second Principal, Comp. Daniel Kennedy was installed as Third Principal.
The members of the Chapter were given a good opportunity to participate as E. Comp Ian Woollard, “visiting” from France sat in the 3rd Principal’s chair during the Obligations and E. Comp. Terry Clarke assisting in the 2nd Principal’s chair. To close off the Installation, Dave Mallinson presented the Robe Address impeccably to the incoming 2nd Principal, Justin Pursey, who then proceeded in the same manner to deliver the Robe Address to the incoming 3rd Principal. That the Installation went so smoothly was in no part down to the DC, E. Comp. Jeremy Thomas who clearly had got to grips with the intricacies of the ceremony for his first outing in post.
After the Officers were appointed and re-appointed, the addresses to the Principals, Officers and Companions were delivered by E. Comp. Geoff Lester, E. Comp. Simon Sparkes and E. Comp. Sandy Glen respectively.
The Companions then retired to the Festive Board and planning started for our next Convocation in March.
