Chapter of brotherly love 329 October 2022

A regular Convocation of the Chapter was held on Thursday 20th October at the Yeovil Masonic Hall. An excellent turn out of both members and guests. In fact, one of our guests even got collared to take Office, which he was more than happy to do, and our very grateful thanks to our Provincial 2nd Grand Principal.

The meeting sadly started with a prayer and period of reflection for the loss or Queen Elixabeth II. This was followed by heartfelt eulogies in respect of Charles (Neville to most) Harrison, PAGSoj, which was delivered by E Comp Alan Holton, PPrDepGSupt, and for David Burke, PPrGReg, which was delivered by E Comp Ken Crang, PPrGScN, who had passed to the Supreme Grand Chapter above, the companions then stood to order to departed merit whilst our organist played a short piece of solemn music.

On a happier note the meeting proceeded with the exaltation of Brother Mark Lyndon Twist, Ollie to most, a member Royal Naval Lodge No 2761. He was admitted in due form, obligated and raised as a Royal Arch Mason. The Chapter has its own form of the ritual, and even with the short notice E.Comp Neil Hurcom was not fazed and delivered his part superbly. Ollie was invested, rewarded and decorated with the Badge, Jewel and Sash of a Royal Arch Mason and  warmly welcomed into the Chapter by the Principals.

The Chapter was closed after all the usual business had been completed and all retired to the hall downstairs and with very convivial company enjoyed a very pleasant meal.
